The Public Works Department is responsible for City infrastructure (streets, water, wastewater, parks, facilities, etc), related codes and permits, as well as review of project proposals for compliance with City codes and construction regulations and inspection of projects for compliance with approved construction plans and City and State regulations/laws. In addition, the Public Works Department, with Community Development Planning, is responsible for long-range planning and capital project design, management and inspection. Other services handled by Public Works crews include mowing, irrigation and weed control.
The department is also responsible for the Water Treatment Plant which provides the city and its residents with clean drinking water as well as the Waste Water Treatment Plant that handles the sanitary sewer water.
The City provides water, sewer and garbage service within the city limits of Woodland. Inquiries or changes to these services should be directed to the Utilities Department at (360) 225-8281.
