The building division offers permitting, inspection, and code administration/interpretation services for all projects within city limits. The City of Woodland utilizes local code, Title 14, Buildings and Construction, as well as state and national codes including the International Building Code, International Residential Code, International Mechanical Code, International Fire Code, the Uniform Plumbing Code, and the Washington State Energy Code.

All work within city limits requires the contractor to obtain a City of Woodland Business License. Application and payment for said business license must be submitted prior to submitting for any type of building or land use permit.
Electrical permits can be obtained from the Department of Labor & Industries, 711 Vine Street, #1, Kelso, WA 98626, (360) 575-6900.
