The City of Woodland was incorporated on March 26, 1906, and is a non-charter code city with a mayor-council form of government.   The Mayor and five council members are elected by a citywide, at large vote, every four years.  The four-year terms are staggered.  The City Council is the legislative branch of city government.  The Council adopts ordinances and resolutions expressing the policy directives of the Council; adopts the city budget; and defines the functions, powers, and duties of the city officers and employees.  The city provides police, fire, emergency medical aid, streets, sanitation, health, recreation, library, parks, public improvements, planning and zoning, water supply, treatment and distribution, and sewage collection and treatment services.  The City of Woodland belongs to the 3rd Congressional District and the 18th Legislative District.

The Woodland City Council meets on the first and third Monday of every month at 7:30 p.m. or as scheduled.  Meetings are held at Woodland City Hall, 100 Davidson Avenue, Woodland, Washington.  Council Chambers are on the 2nd floor (handicapped accessible).  For general information please contact the Office of the Clerk/Treasurer at 230 Davidson Avenue/ P.O.
