The Building Department processes all building, plumbing, mechanical, and other miscellaneous permits (fire, sign, fence, re-roof, etc).  For electrical permits and inspections contact the Department of Labor & Industries at (360) 577-6923.

An original application and two sets of drawings are required.  Review time varies based on the type of project.  We DO NOT issue permits across the counter, all permits require Building Official signature.  Payment is due at the time of issuance, the City does not accept credit cards.

Inspections are scheduled Monday-Friday, from 8:00-12:00 and 1:00-5:00 pm.  Our office is open from 9:00-12:00 and 1:00-5:00.  Please call in advance, 24-hour notice is required.

City of Woodland business licenses are required for all contractors and sub-contractors.  Contractor registration numbers are verified through the Washington State Labor and Industries.

FLOOD PLAIN INFORMATION

The City of Woodland is located in a flood zone.  The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has provided Woodland with a Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM).  The Community-Panel Number is 530035 0001 C.  The map revision date is September 4, 1985.  The Building Department is able to provide copies of elevation certificates on most Woodland properties that were built after February of 1996.  In an attempt to assist property owners, insurance companies, appraisers, etc. we are publishing all available elevation certificates.  We have provided the most legible copy available; you may need to contact the surveyor directly.  The City charges a $100 fee for Floodplain Management on all homes that are built in the A-15 zone.  Additional information may be obtained from the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP)
